As the language of instruction at GUST is English, all applicants are required to demonstrate proficiency in the English language. GUST allows applicants to demonstrate English language proficiency in two ways: Applicants can submit official iBT TOEFL or IELTS* scores or sit for the KITE™ Test. The KITE Test comprises two main sections:

The (KITE) Main Flight is an online, computer adaptive English language assessment system that precisely measures Listening, Reading, and Grammar.  In addition, a writing sample based on an assigned topic is assessed by KITE raters. Both KITE Main Flight and Writing scores are used to determine each student’s English placement level.

 The IELTS score in the chart is the minimum score required in each of the four test parts – listening, reading, writing and speaking. Only the IELTS Academic Module will be accepted for entry to GUST . 

All students applying to GUST must sit for the ACCUPLACER™ Online Mathematics Placement Test. The results of this test will determine whether the student is placed in non-credit or credit mathematic course. Transfer students who are able to transfer math courses do not sit the test.
